From 1990 through August of 2004, 10-95 was the primary Rescue truck for North Madison. It carried a large assortment of fire, motor vehicle, and water & land rescue equipment. Begining in 1997, Emergency Medical Services became a secondary role of the truck when the company began it’s First Responder service. 10-95 responded to virtually ALL of the calls received by North Madison. By the early 21st Century, the truck was at capacity and simply could not handle any further additions. The new Heavy Rescue (10-96) was put into service in August 2004 and took over much of 10-95’s responsibilities. Much of the equipment was moved to the new truck leaving only the EMS equipment and some hydrolic rescue tools (Jaws of Life).
Today, 10-95 is now primarily an Emergency Medical Services unit. It responds to medical emergencies and motor vehicle accidents. It still has it’s hydrolic rescue tools which makes it a backup for motor vehicle extrications as well.
